Songs & Readings


With each new theme introduced in our Grade 2 French Pogram, we will also be learning new songs and readings to supplement them. Our theme for the remainder of October is Hallowe'en.  Please enjoy practicing these songs with your child.  A YouTube link has been provided to assist you and you child with this learning experience.

Let’s Review…Les Mots Féminins (Feminine nouns)
 
Last week’s list words and homework focused on feminine nouns particularly pertaining to colours.  We add an “e” at the end of adjectives that proceed a noun which is feminine. Here are some great sentences that our class came up with from our list of word wall words.

 Students… You be the teacher!

Can you translate these sentences after reading them for your parents?

Remembrence Day/Le Jour du Souvenir

The Grade 2's have begun writing in their new writing notebooks.  Their first ativity was on the topic of Remembrance Day.  The students were asked to choose one opening sentence, out of Column #1, a secondary sentence out of Column #2 and a closing sentence from  Column #3.  The following are all the ideas our class came up with that you may wish to mix and match at home.  Your child will be bringing home these books for you to read with your child shortly.

We are begining our Advent and Chistmas season, the students will be learning "Deck the Halls in French. The words to the song are found in your child's french duotang. Attached below is the music for the song. Please ignore the written test and sing along with the french words provided in the duotang.
This song will be our Grade 2 class presentation for the St Rita Christmas concert celebration on December 18th 2013.

 



 



Extra Reading Practice:

One of our writing activities included writing and reading about what we see in our Christmas rtree. The students were asked to mix and match sentences with the sentence starters and decorate our Christmas tree with their sentences here at school.  This is a list of our great ideas. You may choose to create new sentences with ther ideas below.
